First Day 2018

I am so excited to begin my school year with this awesome group of kids! Here are some snippets of the fun we had today.

Once again, the bean box is a hit

Enjoying a classic book...one of my favorites!

This little cutie will join us on Tuesdays with her mom- she is so easy going and spent most of the time chilling out in a carrier on her mom's back.  I didn't get a picture of Ms Christen but it was so nice to have her there with us!

Exploring magnets

I told them I was taking this picture to show their moms and dads how impressed I was by how nicely they sat at the circle.  Pretty impressive for the first day!

Library time

Fun with cars on the track

This guy is almost old enough for preschool so we decided this morning to give it a trial run. It will be fun to have him join his big brother on Tuesdays while we try it out. :)

Getting ready to put the doll down for a nap

Hard at work

Busy at play

Awesome teamwork

She took very good care of the babies

...and the bunny

We had a lot of free time to explore- both inside and outside

Petting Hopper

Lots of bubbles!

It was fun to watch them get to know each other.

Painting time

Besides having fun we also learned a lot! We learned the names of our friends and spent time playing together to learn about how to form friendships. We learned about how our preschool days will run and what our classroom holds. We worked on sitting for circle time and learned what our jobs are (to love and take care of each other, and to listen so we can learn). We learned about making good choices and using our nice words to help figure things out, we learned how good it feels to get outside and move our bodies, we learned how to work together to get a job done, we played with activities that will make our fingers strong so we can become writers, we learned how to make watercolor paints work :), we learned some songs and read some books, and we learned how fun it is to learn! I can't wait to have them back on Thursday for lots more fun and learning!
