Our second week is over and everything is going strong! We started talking about the letters in our names and we learned about and explored things with our 5 senses. We will continue our "All About Me" theme for the next 2 weeks as we learn about families, friends, feelings, and talents. We are also still focusing a lot on our "strong choices" curriculum which you'll continue to see coming home on the projects we make. As I've mentioned before, my main focus for these first 4 weeks is working on social and emotional skills and values that will help them throughout the year and for the rest of their lives! This week we'll talk about helpfulness and kindness, and then we'll finish off next week with gratitude and curiosity. We've used a lot of books, music, and puppets for these lessons and they've been a lot of fun! I try to help them recognize characters in books that are making strong choices and then try to catch them doing it themselves- they are doing great! We've also been doing a lot of activities that build their fine motor and gross motor skills in order to prepare them for the academic activities that we'll be doing more of soon. There's so much more I could talk about but I'll just let you see what we've been doing through these pictures! (If you ever want to hear more on what we do during the day feel free to ask...I love talking about preschool!) Oh...I almost forgot to mention that we have a couple of new friends. One may be temporary as they are looking to move, but if we're lucky she'll be able to stay! :)

Hannah made a little lesson for whoever was interested - she cut up some apples so they could plant the seeds and let them snack on them while she read the book "The apple pip princess". |
